Close ranks with the English and their king Edward the Confessor in the year 1046 AD. As the last king of the Anglo-Saxons, Edward has enjoyed a short reprieve as he rescued his land from the clutches of the Vikings and the Danes. But all is not as it seems in England. Strange weather phenomena set the backdrop of this extraordinary time. A blinding snowstorm has engulfed the land and this frightening blizzard – the Grim Whyte – has come to haunt the inhabitants of old England. It is rumored that the forces of darkness have been sent to chastise mankind for its blatant disregard for the laws of nature. This frightening veil of evil is hiding monsters and gods of iniquitous proportions.
Enter the Changeling
The Changeling lives among mankind but it is blissfully unaware of its own immortality. At the conclusion of its human lifetime, it enters a state of nothingness where no memory of the past is known. It is in this dream state that it eventually finds a new human settlement and awakens. This Changeling has no memory of its former life nor is it human – but it does blend in terrifically. Its existence in these states continues over and over again, hiding and resurfacing for multiple generations. Now the Grim Whyte is upon us at the same time as the conclusion of the Changeling’s current life.
But where does the Changeling’s new life force come from? It is now in the daze and confusion of the mythical forces of nature – something iniquitous within the storm – this is where Runespell Overture begins.
What Players can Expect
Players are effectively Changeling – the son of a monster God in an enthralling card-based Real Player Game. Players do battle with Poker/Yahtzee combos, unlock special attacks with Power Cards, enjoy the use of leaderboards and in-game achievements.
